Hambleton ARS

About us

Hambleton Amateur Radio Society [HARS] was formed in 1984 when several local amateur radio enthusiasts met in a local pub! We  meet regularly for discussion, operation and training in amateur radio. Courses and training are offered for Foundation, Intermediate and Full amateur radio licences as and when there is demand. We have access to an examination centre to hold the examinations locally. We are affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain. We are a friendly and welcoming club so why not drop by and find out more about amateur radio.

IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and to comply with the government’s advice, The Mencap Centre is closed until further notice. This means that all face to face meetings of the radio society are suspended too until restrictions are lifted. The club will endeavour to meet on air and further details will be published in the coming days. Please keep checking this website and our Facebook page for more details.

Meeting times

Club meetings take place fortnightly on Wednesday evenings.
Doors open at 7.30pm with activities usually starting shortly after 8.00pm
