Hambleton Amateur Radio Society [HARS] was formed in 1984 when several local amateur radio enthusiasts met in a local pub! We meet regularly for discussion, operation and training in amateur radio. Courses and training are offered for Foundation, Intermediate and Full amateur radio licences as and when there is demand. We have access to an examination centre to hold the examinations locally. We are affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain. We are a friendly and welcoming club so why not drop by and find out more about amateur radio.
IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and to comply with the government’s advice, Hambleton Amateur Radio Society has taken the difficult decision to continue to suspended all face to face meetings until further notice. Members of the club still regularly meet each morning at 11am on 2 metres and this is to be encouraged. Moving forward we will be developing other ways of being able to meet until such time as we may resume the face to face meetings. We are deeply disappointed at this decision but to keep everyone safe and well it is the right one. When we are able to meet once again we will hope to do so swiftly. In the meantime keep checking this website and our social media channels for more news. Keep well and stay safe!
